Marvin Trachtenberg – Managing Partner

In a profession known for its focus on numbers, Marvin has focused on people. His accounting skills complement his ability to understand people and their needs. He has represented hundreds of businesses in a wide range of industries, in many cases helping restructure clients in financial difficulty.

Marvin’s long-standing relationships with lenders, coupled with his talent for negotiation has proved invaluable to a variety of start up companies. On numerous occasions, lenders, who have become uncomfortable with outstanding loans have asked him to step in and provide expertise.

Marvin received his BBA from Pace University in New York. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants. In 2001, Marvin received the Special Counselor to Small Business Award from the Long Island Development Corp. He has presented at a variety of seminars, including the Suffolk County Women’s Business Coalition, in addition to serving on several Board of Directors.

Martin Pauker – Managing Partner

Martin Pauker has been a partner in the firm since 1987 when he merged his firm with Silverman & Trachtenberg forming Trachtenberg & Pauker. Martin oversees the professional staff and final review of all financial statements and tax returns. In addition, he provides tax and accounting advice for high net worth individuals as well as financial service firms.

Martin works closely with clients to develop and implement business plans that enable them to achieve their business objectives. Such business consulting is one of the reasons that Trachtenberg & Pauker was awarded the SBA’s 1999 Accountant Advocate of the Year award for the region encompassing New York, New Jersey, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Martin has a BS degree in accounting from George Washington University and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the National Society of Public Accountants. In his practice of more than twenty years, he has been a popular lecturer for bankers and other groups of tax and accounting matters.

David J. Becker – Partner

As the firm’s newest partner, David’s responsibilities include all areas of financial reporting and taxation. His concentration is on helping organizations in manufacturing, real estate, transportation, publishing, wholesale distribution and not-for-profit. His specialties include estates and trusts and business valuation.

David graduated from the New York Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting in 1985. Upon graduation, David worked for a large regional accounting firm in New York City for nine years. He is a CPA licensed in New York and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Michael S. Cowles – Manager

Michael provides audit, accounting and tax services to small and medium sized businesses in a variety of industries. His specialties include hedge funds, transportation and retail.

Michael received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting degree from the State University of New York in Plattsburgh in 1982. Michael worked for a regional accounting firm in Plattsburgh for ten years, spending the last four as a partner in the firm. Michael was also the audit manager of a Manhattan accounting firm prior to joining Trachtenberg & Pauker. He is a CPA licensed in New York and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Steven J. Feinglass – Manager

Steven provides accounting and auditing services for a variety of clients, in addition to helping clients evaluate, select, and implement new hardware and software for their accounting applications in industries such as transportation, distributors, insurance brokerages, and professional service firms.
